Emily S. Vincent, President

Emily is President of Douglas M. Farr & Co., Inc.  She graduated in 2007 from Pacific Lutheran University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.  She has earned the Qualified 401(k) Consultant (QKC) and Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and actively follows the progress of Congressional deliberations pertaining to potential changes to federal pension laws.  Her primary duties at Douglas M. Farr & Company, Inc. include new plan design, plan takeovers, document preparation, and plan administration.  Emily enjoys meeting new clients and educating them on retirement plans so that they may achieve their retirement objectives.  She looks forward to growing the family business for many years to come.

Throughout her high school and college days, Emily was active in athletics, earning numerous awards in cross-country, soccer, and track & field.  After graduating from college, Emily was determined to compete in a marathon, and, on March 21, 2010 she completed the Los Angeles Marathon in a time of 3:38:40, which qualified her to compete in the elite Boston Marathon. Emily also ran the original marathon in Athens, Greece in November 2017 in a time of 3:37:22.  When she is not running, she enjoys spending time in her hometown of the Crescenta Valley with her husband, Matt, and daughters, Ellie and Miley.

Nick Farr, Retirement Plan Administrator

Nick manages the administration of Defined Benefit Pension Plans, including all aspects of Internal Revenue Code compliance. He works directly with clients and their financial professionals to administer their retirement plans, including the preparation of annual tax filings. In addition to other duties, he prepares year-end reports for clients and account statements for plan participants. Nick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Northwestern University and a Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) accreditation with the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries. When he’s not in the office, he can be found spending quality time with his wife and playing the occasional round of golf.

Cesar A. Olivares, Retirement Plan Administrator

Cesar oversees the administration of Cash Balance & Defined Contribution plans. Ranging from asset reconciliation to preparation of annual government reports, his responsibilities encompass all aspects of plan management. As a bilingual Spanish speaker, Cesar also provides much-needed communication with non-English speaking participants who have questions about plan benefits.  Cesar came to Douglas M. Farr & Co., Inc. after several years of experience performing office work in the legal field.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Intensive Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz, which speaks to his passion for critical analysis and commitment to effective communication.  His outside interests include spending time with his family and fellowshipping with his local church. He is currently in pursuit of QKA accreditation with the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.

Christian Marvin, Retirement Plan Administrator

Christian manages the owner only Defined Contribution Plans, including plan document compliance. He works directly with clients and their tax and financial professionals to administer their retirement plans, including annual tax filings, preparing year-end reports for clients, preparing account statements for plan participants, and sending any other required notices. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a minor in Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his wife, reading, and playing guitar and bass for his local church.

Maxine Eiler, Retirement Plan Administrator

Maxine manages the administration of owner only Defined Contribution Plans and has over thirteen years of experience in administration. She works directly with financial professionals and clients to administer their retirement plans. She assists with plan administration, initial plan setup and government filings for Defined Contribution plans. She is currently in pursuit of her QKA designation with ASPPA.

When not working she is hiking in the mountains and spending time with her daughter and family.

Cheney Gianarelli, Retirement Plan Administrator

“Cheney manages the administration of Defined Contribution Plans and has over nine years of experience in administration. He works directly with financial professionals and clients to administer their retirement plans. He assists with plan administration, initial plan setup and government filings for Defined Contribution plans. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration both from Carroll College in Helena, Montana.

When not working he is reading and volunteering with or coaching his children’s sports teams and spending time with his family.”

Kalan Reese, Retirement Plan Administrator

Kalan joined the company in 2023 as a Retirement Plan Administrator. She assists clients with the administration of their plans and prepares annual tax filings, year-end reports, and participant account statements.  In addition, Kalan oversees participant loans and distributions as well as new, restated and amended plan documents.  She completed the Retirement Plan Fundamentals course and examination in 2018 and is currently studying to earn her Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cognitive Science with a minor in Philosophy from Austin College. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, reading, trying out new recipes, and singing at karaoke nights.
Kalan

Aurora Gonzales, Retirement Plan Administrator

Aurora manages the administration of Defined Contribution Plans and has over 18 years of experience in administration. She works directly with financial professionals and clients to administer their retirement plans. She assists with the plan administration, initial plan setup and government filings for Defined Contribution Plans. She is a fluent Spanish speaker and is always happy to communicate with Spanish speaking clients and participants.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, taking walks with her husband, son and germen shepherd, and cooking for her family.

Aurora

Al Asatourian, Administrative Assistant

Al is the Administrative Assistant and handles supporting duties to the other plan administrators. She assists in data entry, runs transactional analysis on brokerage statements, prepares documents for correspondence with clients, and is responsible for bringing the client balance sheets up to date. Al came to Douglas M. Farr & Co., Inc. after several years of experience performing office work in the legal field. Outside of work, she loves to go hiking in Nature.

Douglas M. Farr, Founder (Retired)

Doug founded Douglas M. Farr & Co., Inc. in 1977, and over the past 40 years he has supervised the design, implementation, and maintenance of hundreds of defined contribution and defined benefit plans. Doug holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carthage College (Wisconsin) in Economics having worked in both public and private accounting. To this day he remains actively engaged in continuing education amidst the ever-changing landscape of pension law. In his spare time Doug enjoys the great outdoors, in particular fly-fishing and bird-watching with the Pasadena Audubon Society. He is a proud father of three and grandfather of five.
